Our story
About MyPetESA
We built MyPetESA because the ESA space was full of shortcuts — and people who genuinely need support deserve better.
Legitimacy, for people and their pets
The bond between a person and their animal can be a genuine part of emotional wellbeing — and U.S. housing law recognizes that. But somewhere along the way, the internet filled up with "instant ESA letters" that skip the one thing that makes a letter meaningful: a real evaluation by a licensed professional.
MyPetESA exists to do this the right way. We connect you with independent, state-licensed mental health professionals who conduct genuine telehealth evaluations. If an emotional support animal is clinically appropriate for you, you receive professional documentation that stands up to scrutiny. If it isn’t, we tell you honestly — and refund you in full.
That honesty costs us some customers. We think it’s the only way this should work.
Our Values
Clinical integrity first
Every letter follows a genuine evaluation. Clinicians decide independently — we never set approval targets or quotas.
Radical transparency
Flat pricing, clear timelines, and honest answers about what an ESA letter can and can’t do for you.
Privacy by default
Your intake, session, and letter are encrypted end to end. Your information is shared only with your clinician.
People over process
Real humans answer your questions, help with landlord verification, and stick with you after your letter arrives.
Our Clinical Standards
Licensure verified with state boards.
Every clinician’s license is confirmed directly with the issuing state board before they see a single client — and re-checked regularly.
Evaluations grounded in recognized clinical criteria.
Clinicians assess using established diagnostic frameworks (DSM-5) — not checkbox forms.
No approval quotas — ever.
Clinicians are compensated identically whether or not they issue a letter, so their judgment is never tied to our revenue.
State-specific compliance.
From the 30-day relationship rules in states like California and Montana to telehealth regulations, our process adapts to where you live.
